For me it is fine for a pair of pointe shoes, but depending on your ankle is could be too little. Just get two and if you turn out to only need one, you can use the other one for another pair. - Livichow (11/24/2014)
KiKi 03/19/2014 Age: 17 or under Is this better than ribbon with elastic in it?
I was looking in to Bloch Elastorib Ribbon and I was wondering which people liked better and why?
The Elastorib is merely a ribbon with elastic, while the extra support ribbon is an extension stretch ribbon that is meant to to increase range of motion and heel release, it will also reduce tendon trauma. - DDS Customer Service (03/20/2014)
Yes yes yes!
I used the Bloch elastic-insert ribbons for a few years until I discovered the primasoft.
Why these are better:
1. Simpler to use- you don't have to line up the stretchy part with any particular part of your ankle because the whole ribbon is stretchy.
2. The all-over stretch actually supports your foot/ankle a little bit (just be careful not to pull them too tight!)
3. No seams on the ribbon so no spots to potentially rub.
4. Super durable. I can move mine to several pairs of shoes before they look to ratty to keep using. - Anotherbunhead (05/25/2014)
I'm not as much a fan of the 'hybrid' ribbon because it's more difficult to customize in the right spot. However, I have strong, flexible but straight ankles and generally dislike regular ribbons due to the overall constriction. If you have very bendy or powerful feet, I don't know that the full elastic ribbons would be the best idea, as they may allow a little too much articulation in the ankle. You could always try a combination of both! - Sarahsophia (06/21/2014)
I definitely prefer these to the Bloch ribbon! The Bloch ribbon is probably fine, but I hate having to spend so much time worrying if I'm sewing the ribbon on at the right length to sit perfectly at the achilles. - Shelly88 (09/03/2014)
