There's a story to be told in Lubbock, Texas - one that has a profound impact on the lives of children spanning 20 schools across Lubbock, Frenship, and Shallowater counties. Ballet Lubbock is a non-profit organization that helps students stay in school by giving them an outlet to look forward to. They believe that by giving these kids opportunities to dance and perform, their allowing them to be movement artists and better humans - learning how to work hard, collaborate - and of course, have fun!

Ballet Lubbock's Director of Community Engagement, reached out to us requesting help in donating ballet shoes for their boys and girls ballet program called, Dance Connect. Through this program, they have been able to provide ballet shoes to every 3rd through 5th grader who attends. This year they have more than doubled the number of kids who are participating in this program, equaling 378 students. With these amazingly overwhelming numbers, they didn't have enough supply of ballet shoes, so they asked for our help in donating 150 ballet shoes for boys and girls.

When we at Discount Dance learned of this, we knew right away that it aligned perfectly with our community mission of igniting, inspiring, and connecting our community of active dancers from all walks of life, cultures and skill levels. This was a program that we wanted to help support and encourage. Discount Dance gladly agreed to donating 150 ballet shoes for the boys and girls across the Lubbock Ballet program. We are excited to watch the success of Ballet Lubbock and Dance Connect unfold as they continue to enrich the lives of children through the art of dance!
